I love fairy tales, always have. The Disney version of almost any story is good in my book. But, Snow White has always grated on my nerves – that singing voice was way over the top. When I read about Fox’s new version of the classic tale on Hollywood Reporter, my interest was peaked.
The show, tentatively titled Georgia and the Seven Associates, is loosely based on the fairy tale. The basic storyline revolves around “Georgia Burnett, a young lawyer who is banished from a top law firm run by her stepmother and forced to team up with seven quirky lawyers at a storefront legal office. The associates at the firm will have the personalities of the Seven Dwarfs. For instance, Doc is an ambulance chaser who carries neck braces in his trunk, and Sleepy is a bike messenger who parties at night and naps in the office.”
Quite honestly, I think Fox could have a winner with this one. The cases that the associates will be working on are based on other fairy tales – like the one where three people are booted from their homes by a corporation by the name of Wolf.
As long as the Associates aren’t “little people,” I’ll be tuning in for this one. Besides the clever premise, the show is being created by ABC Studios, and the producers are “Chris Brancato and Bert Salke, feature writers David Weissman and David Diamond and director Ken Kwapis. Brancato and Salke invited Kwapis, who helmed the pilot for NBC's Emmy-winning comedy "The Office," to direct the pilot for "Georgia," which has a put pilot commitment from Fox.”
