We've passed the one-month mark in the countdown to the third season of AMC's The Walking Dead. Promotions for the new season have teased us about the new locations and new characters set to be featured in Season 3. We get a peek of them in this latest video to make its way online. Take a look and see what the cast has to say about the upcoming season.
The Walking Dead has a lot of starring and recurring cast members and many them are featured in the video below, including newcomers David Morrissey and Danai Gurira, who play the Governor and Michonne respectively. Also featured is Michael Rooker, who talks about the return of Merle, a character who hasn't been seen (excluding Daryl's hallucinations) since Season 1!
Fasten your seat belt! We're in for "more madness, more chaos, more grief" and "new locations, compelling characters and shocking deaths." Those are teasing words! I also like the talk about this being a season of people vs. people. The first two seasons have delved slightly into the dangers of other survivors, but so much of the focus has been on finding places away from the walkers. With the prison and Mayberry factoring into the new season, it sounds like we'll be seeing Rick's group of survivors coming up against the Governor's.
Other interesting comments made:
Rick's group has lost the ability to communicate with one another. Has everything that's happened started to take its toll?
Maggie and Glenn as a "two-pronged weapon." They're my favorite couple (romantic or otherwise) on the series, so I like hearing that analogy. And I hope neither of them fall under the category of the mentioned "shocking deaths."
Andrea's going to be more independent - It seemed like she was straying further and further from the group last season, so her breaking off even more seems like the natural course of action. When Season 2 ended, she was separated from Rick's people and rescued by Michonne. I wonder how long she'll be apart from Rick and the rest of them.
The Walking Dead returns for Season 3 on October 14 on AMC.
