Fans of parkour, hidden blades and hoodies have a lot to be excited about this week as not one, but two Assassin’s Creed games make their way to market. But like the stealthy killers in Assassin’s Creed: Unity, these bad boys won’t be traveling alone as a new Lego Batman game hits the physical and virtual shelves, as well as a new Digimon brawler and several download-only titles for PlayStation consoles.
Set in North America during the 18th century, players will dive into the boots of Shay Patrick Cormac in Assassin’s Creed Rogue as he plays a secretive, yet pivotal role in the French and Indian War. Following the lead of Black Flag, players can expect high-flying shenanigans in the New World, with piracy serving as a key mechanic. Look for it this week on the PS3.
And if that wasn’t enough for you, then how about a brand new Assassin’s Creed game for the PS4? Enter, Unity. Players will team up in groups of up to four in this cooperative romp that proves dispatching the corrupted elite is way more fun with a few buddies in tow.
If, however, you would prefer to avoid shoving pointy objects into the throats of your enemies, then this week’s PlayStation update still offers a variety of options on all three platforms.
For starters, fans of four-player brawlers might want to check out Digimon All-Star Rumble on the PS3 starting tomorrow, allowing you to pick from 12 of the series’ most beloved ‘Mon and duke it out on 10 arenas pulled straight from the long-running show’s many universes. Not sure how to feel about this one? Then look for our review of the game to go live sometime tomorrow.
Speaking of reviews-in-progress, we’ll also be at the ready for the PlayStation Vita rhythm game Senran Kaguro: Bon Apetit. It’s a budget-priced title featuring buxom shinobi in a cooking contest and, like All-Star Rumble, we should have a review going live sometime tomorrow.
The Vita will also be home to Get Off My Lawn tomorrow afternoon, a game about a trigger-happy grandpa who is single-handedly fighting off an alien invasion.
The Caped Crusader will be back in action on all three Sony platforms this week with Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, with a new twin-stick shooter, Nano Assault NEO-X hitting the PS4 and giving us a distinct Stardust vibe. That’s a good thing!
Pro Evolution Soccer 2015 hits the virtual pitch on the PS3 and PS4 this week, with the new gen version of Terraria coming to PlayStation’s latest console, too. Oh, and if you still haven’t gotten around to playing Retro City Rampage, then the highly upgraded director’s cut will be on all three systems as a cross-buy title starting tomorrow afternoon.
And last but not least, look for the physics-based puzzler, Ring Race Circus, on the PlayStation Vita.
Boom. I’m out.
