2K Games released the first-ever look at BioShock 2's multiplayer mode tonight on GameTrailers TV. The word "chaos" comes to mind when watching the footage.

The multiplayer takes place during the fall of Rapture, the underwater city where BioShock and its sequel are set. Players are apparently Sinclair Solutions test subjects who have turned on each other. They'll use a variety of tonics, plasmids, and good old fashioned firearms to take out opponents. In addition to all the fireballs and shotguns, there's also going to be turrets. Oh, and players will be able to transform into a Big Daddy and steamroll everyone.

BioShock 2's multiplayer development is being handled by Digital Extremes while 2K Marin focuses on the single-player. The game's due in the first half of 2010.
