The Witcher creators CD Projekt RED announced the full title of their next role-playing game today. Cyberpunk 2077, based on the pen-and-paper RPG series Cyberpunk 2020, is being prepared for an unknown release date.

Cyberpunk takes place in a bleak future where megacorporations reign supreme. Artificial intelligence, cloning, and cybernetic enhancements are all realities. The game's setting is Night City, a fictional metropolis south of San Francisco.

Like Witcher 2, Cyberpunk 2077 will feature a multi-threaded story driven by player choice. Players will have a vast array of guns, cybernetic implants and other technology at their disposal. They'll travel to notable locations from the pen-and-paper game, including Forlorn Hope and Afterlife.

CD Projekt hasn't announced Cyberpunk 2077's release date yet. The platforms are also unclear at this time, though the PC seems like a safe bet considering the company's history. Perhaps they're planning a release on the next generation of consoles as well.

Cyberpunk 2077's official website is now live. It's bare except for a couple pieces of concept art, which you can check out below.
