GTA 5 Is Bigger Than GTA 4, RDR, GTA SA Combined
Wow oh wow. When Game Informer said they had an 18-page spread of Grand Theft Auto V I thought it would be a lot of character art and worthless stuff, with tidbits of useful info sprinkled in between. However, that couldn't be further from the truth. GI unearthed some amazing new details for GTA V, including just how big the actual game world is.
All the information comes from the december issue of Game Informer. A few websites have already started posting spreads, info and bullet points of the useful information from the interview such. One of the biggest key changes for GTA V is how the world operates. Rockstar has confirmed to Game Informer that Grand Theft Auto V is actually bigger than GTA: San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption and GTA IV...combined.
I'll let that sink in for a minute.
The one key thing that stands out is that the game world will be fully fleshed out, similar to how Liberty City was made to look like an actual city replica of New York. Rockstar has stated that they weren't particularly pleased with the way San Andreas turned out and that they were hoping to give L.A. proper treatment in a large-scale city environment with lots of detail and densely populated areas. In simple terms, they wanted to recreate L.A., in the same way that they recreated New York City.
They'll also be filling up the city with tons of activities in which to customize your character, including visiting key locations where you can perform mini-games, workout, eat or just hang out. They also made it where you can also dive into the ocean like in GTA: SA, and the ocean floor will be fully detailed for all sorts of crazy underwater exploits. I still can't get over the fact that the game will be larger than Rockstar's previous open-world titles combined. How exciting is that?
