Halo 4 players have plenty to look forward to in the upcoming week. 343 Industries plans to release a new episode of the Spartan Ops campaign and also update the competitive multiplayer with some new content.

Spartan Ops Episode 7 will continue the story of the UNSC Infinity's crew. Players, who take on the role of custom Spartan soldiers, will have five new missions to tackle alone or with friends. As usual, Episode 7 is free to download. 343 plans to release three more episodes after 7 to complete this season. These episodes are being released on a weekly basis.

Competitive multiplayer enthusiasts, meanwhile, can look forward to a new Grifball playlist. Grifball is a pseudo-sport devised in the Halo 3 era that became wildly popular. It pits two teams of four players with energy swords and gravity hammers against each other. The two teams battle it out in an arena with a bomb in the middle. The objective is to move the bomb to your opponent's spawn point. If that sounds chaotic, it's because it is.

Two new specializations will be added to multiplayer as well. Both will provide new unlockables for players to pursue. The Engineer specialization provides access to the Drop Recon Armor Mod, which lets players easily locate Ordnance Drops. The Stalker, meanwhile, can get a Nemesis armor mod that lets them track down enemies who previously attacked them.

Spartan Ops Episode 7 and competitive multiplayer changes will be introduced on Monday. Expect a cinematic trailer for Episode 7 sometime between now and then.
