Wii U owners will have a new/old Legend of Zelda game to look forward to this fall. Nintendo is planning to release a high-definition remake of Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

Wind Waker was first released for the Nintendo GameCube in 2002. Its gameplay was similar to previous 3D Zelda installments like Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. It was notable for its more cartoon-like art style and the wind-based mechanics for traveling and puzzles. The game also updated the combat system of previous games, allowing Link to parry attacks or use enemy weapons.

Nintendo didn't divulge many details on Wind Waker HD. However, they did say that the game will be playable on your TV or on the screen of the Wii U GamePad. Furthermore, it will utilize the Miiverse social network in some way.

Today company also acknowledged that they're making an all-new Zelda for Wii U. However, they say it's too early to say anything about the project, rumored to be the company's most expensive game yet.
