Mad Catz announced today that their very own Wireless-N adapter is now shipping to retailers for Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. The new adapter adds support for 802.11b/g/n networks and offers gamers wireless speeds up to 150mbs.

This basically comes on the heels of Microsoft’s own Wireless-N Adapter that was released not too long ago for the Xbox 360, but happens to be about $20 cheaper at the $79.99 price range. Seriously, you shouldn't even bother with Microsoft's adapter in this case.

According to Darren Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz, he commented, saying…
“With more HD entertainment content and online gaming being delivered via Xbox Live and PSN, we anticipate the need for Wireless-N gaming adapters will increase. Our Wireless-N Adapter allows Xbox 360 users to access the network wirelessly and for PS3 users to upgrade their wireless technology to the faster N standard.”

Well, having faster access points and connectivity with peripherals within the household isn’t bad so long as you don’t exceed download limits set by your local service provider (via Ars Technica). Other than that, this will probably be perfect for gamers who need less wires and faster speeds out of their gaming hardware.
