NetherRealm Studios released a new promo trailer for Mortal Kombat X's Predator DLC. The content is set to go live for owners of the new-gen fighting game on July 7th for those who already bought the Kombat Pack DLC and it will go live on July 14th for everyone else.
Videogamer.com spotted the new 17 second trailer that does little more than tease the Predator. You can check it out below.
The teaser trailer doesn't do much to really showcase the character, but previously there was some leaked gameplay footage where we were able to see the Predator in action in Mortal Kombat X, it was great stuff.
The Predator has many of all his classic abilities featured in both movies, Predator and Predator 2. This includes his razor sharp disc that cuts through just about anything, his retractable spear, his wristblades and his shoulder cannon. The combos look righteous and the developers did a great job of implementing and honing the character to fit in with the rest of the cast of characters in Mortal Kombat X. You can grab a glimpse of just how devastating and dangerous the Predator can be in combat via a minute and a half long trailer from StopGames.ru.
If you pay close attention, the trailer is aimed at mimicking the original 1987 trailer for Predator that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. It's brilliantly put together and definitely makes the character look like a must-play pugilist on the roster.
The Predator's two finishers are also pretty brutal, but the one with the razor disc isn't quite as hard-hitting as the one where he blows his opponents to pieces using the shoulder cannon. Also, his x-ray attacks are unbelievable. It's the sort of thing that will make you cringe and squint – the squeamish need not apply.
The Predator DLC for Mortal Kombat X joins Tanya and Jason Voorhees. Gamers will be able to expand their roster starting July 7th if they purchased the Kombat Pack and for everyone else you can get your hands on the DLC starting July 14th.
Mortal Kombat X came out back in April for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The game's release on the Xbox 360 and PS3 has been delayed due to unknown circumstances but I imagine it'll likely release sometime before the year is out.
