Twas the night before Christmas and all through PSN, not much was stirring, and thus the rhyme ends. Okay, so maybe it needs some work, but the message is what’s important: Only one game and one PlayStation Plus offering are being added to the PlayStation Network this week, so don’t expect to have your virtual stocking stuffed with too much gaming goodness this week.

The week of Christmas, and traditionally the week following Christmas, is typically a dead zone for new video game releases, including those of the digital variety. All of the folks who keep that train running deserve a little vacation too, don’t you think?

As such, only one new game will be arriving on the PlayStation Network this week, and it’s the PlayStation 4 release of Zen Pinball 2.

“This week, PlayStation is getting ready to enjoy the holiday break, so we have one game coming to PS4, and it’s a great one: Zen Pinball 2,” reads a statement from Ryan Clements on the PlayStation Blog.

Zen Pinball 2 features a whole bunch of tables based on original concepts, as well as IPs from the Star Wars and Marvel universes. The PS4 version of the game won’t feature all of the previous tables, however, though the majority of the Marvel tables, everything from Star Wars and a handful of the original tables will be making it onto Sony’s new console. And the best part is that the game will be cross-buy, meaning that anyone who already owns tables for the PS3 or Vita will be able to download those that are available on the PS4 at no additional cost.

Finally, for the uninitiated, the Sorcerer’s Lair table, which just so happens to be one of my personal favorites, will be free of charge to everyone. Download the game, play that table as much as you want and, if you have a good time, start downloading the other tables you want individually or in bundles of three.

With the slim PSN weekly update comes a completely normal-sized PlayStation Plus update this week, too. This week’s addition to the Instant Game Collection is Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed for the Vita, a portable port that doesn’t skip on any of the content or action from its home console siblings.

Race as legendary characters from the Sonic universe, as well as many others who have made a mark on Sega platforms over the years, across around 20 tracks pulled straight from their classic games. There are multiple race modes and leaderboards, as well as online play for those who like to be more competitive with their kart racing.

This week’s IGC game will be complemented by yet another batch of discounts in the Holiday Sale, including Ducktales Remastered for $7.19, Diablo III for $35.19 and Hotline Miami for just $1.49. You owe it to yourself to pick up that last one, at the very least. For a full list of this week's discounts, visit the PlayStation Blog.
