Indie studio Tequila Works announced their first game today. Deadlight will be published by Microsoft Studios and is coming exclusively to Xbox Live Arcade in the summer of 2012.
Deadlight takes place in an apocalyptic United States. The game follows a man trying to traverse the country's west coast. It's described as a puzzle platformer, the broad genre that Braid and Portal both technically fall under.
Tequila Works in based in Madrid. It was founded in 2009 by Raúl Rubio Munárriz and Luz Sancho Rodríguez. The team they've assembled includes employees from Blizzard Entertainment, MercurySteam and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, among others.
"Our philosophy is to create tasteful things. Our team integrates highly experienced people who still keep the ability to see the world with amazement every day, and enjoy challenging their creative talents," said Rubio Munárriz.
The first screenshots from Deadlight are below. As you'd expect for an apocalyptic game, the visuals are pretty bleak.
