It’s hard to believe but December is just around the corner and with the last month of 2016 comes a brand new collection of titles being added to the Games with Gold program for Xbox platforms. Get ready to celebrate the holidays with epic warriors, soldiers and thieves.
The December Games with Gold lineup is finally here, including a trio of titles for the Xbox 360 and another pair for those of you gaming on the Xbox One. Speaking of the Xbox One crowd, it looks like Microsoft is trying to make sure you get the most bang for your buck moving forward with Games with Gold, as the Xbox 360 titles included in the collection are also playable courtesy of the newly implemented backwards compatibility. In other words, your collection of games just jumped up to five free titles for the month of December.
Speaking of those games, here’s December’s lineup.
-Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
-The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing
Kicking things off with the Xbox 360, your trio of games includes some entertaining romps. CastleStorm has earned a dedicated following from the strategy crowd while Sacred 3 is perfect for those of you who want to get in some dungeon crawling and looting through the holidays. If military shooting is more your speed, then Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising should fit the bill quite nicely.
Over to the Xbox One exclusives and December’s Games with Gold boast a couple of dudes who apparently don’t like showing off their faces. The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing is another dungeon crawler of sorts, this time boasting a sole hero has become famous for his ability to dispatch anything that goes bump in the night. Thief, on the other hand, is a reboot of the classic stealth series featuring a master thief (surprise!) who makes a habit out of robbing to the rich and giving to the poor. While this latest game in the series didn’t win over some diehard fans of the originals, Thief was well received for forging a different path; one that encourages exploration and creative use of the various tools at your disposal.
So, how’s the December Games with Gold lineup stack up? Are you excited to dive into some of these titles or are you too distracted by what you’re hoping to get as a holiday gift? Let us know in the comments below.
