Alex Pettyfer Has Been Approached About The Hunger Games, Is Still Undecided

Last week I ran a roundtable interview that I took part in with Beastly star Alex Pettyfer. Among the many topics discussed, one was Gary Ross' adaptation of The Hunger Games. While Pettyfer was unwilling to give much more than monosyllabic responses to any of the questions regarding the project, Access Hollywood managed to squeeze an entire sentence out of him.
In recent weeks, Pettyfer, who currently has two films playing in theaters, has been the subject of much rumor as fans have been hoping that producers will select him to play Peeta Mellark, a boy who once saved the lead protagonist's life by giving her bread when she was starving. When asked if he has been approached about the part, Pettyfer confirmed that he has, but the deal is far from closed. Saying that he's still "undecided," he's waiting to see a script before committing to anything.
We've been hearing plenty about actresses vying for the chance to play Katniss Everdeen in the film, but you can be certain that there are probably plenty of young men in Hollywood who would love to be a part of the young adult novel craze that has launched the careers of actors like Robert Pattison and Taylor Lautner. Pettyfer might want to think quickly, or any offer could easily disappear.
