Bruce Campbell Has The Best Idea On How To Make Batman V Superman Better

Tomorrow (or later tonight), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice finally hits theaters to blow your mind, or completely let you down, depending on which critic you listen to. We’ve been looking forward to this major movie event for years, and as such we keep thinking about where the DC Extended Universe could potentially go from here. As it happens, cinematic icon Bruce Campbell has his own ideas when it comes to improving the DCEU, and it involves letting his most iconic character loose on DC’s biggest heroes in Dawn of Justice. Check out the tweet below to see more.

So we think it’s safe to say that, with one single tweet, Bruce Campbell has officially won social media. Forever. The tweet features a photoshopped poster for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with Bruce Campbell’s iconic Evil Dead character, Ash Williams, facing off against the Man of Steel and The Dark Knight. The kicker? The movie would be titled Ash Vs Batman Vs Superman: Dead By Dawn of Justice, in reference to the subtitle of Evil Dead II: Dead By Dawn. How perfect is that?

Here’s the thing: having Bruce Campbell’s Ash Williams show up for a major crossover event is actually not the craziest concept. Ash, as well as Campbell himself, has long maintained status as a pop culture icon, and the character recently received a major boost in popularity from the Starz series Ash Vs Evil Dead. Perhaps he’s just the sort of violently hilarious character the somewhat overly grim DCEU needs to break new ground.

For years, people have thrown around the idea of having him face off against numerous horror icons, from Freddy Krueger, to Michael Myers, and even Leatherface. Admittedly it’s often Bruce Campbell himself who floats these ideas along, but fans have consistently shown their enthusiasm for them over the years.

Ash Williams has additionally already made his debut in the world of comics. During a non-canon crossover event, Ash appeared in the Marvel Zombies universe, as well as many other titles, so it doesn’t necessarily seem off the table for him to cross the aisle and make the acquaintance of some DC heroes at some point in the foreseeable future. We’re not saying that it’s going to happen, we’re just saying we want it to happen.

While we doubt Ash Williams, his boomstick, and his chainsaw hand will come to blows with Batman and Superman anytime soon, it’s the sort of idea that gets us all hot and bothered. For now, we will just have to make due with Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman when the DC Trinity premieres in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice tomorrow. Stay tuned for more details.
