Chris Hemsworth's acting career has never gone as well as it's going right now and he is certainly taking advantage by taking on as many projects as he can find. In addition to Thor: The Dark World, which is currently in production, he also recently wrapped on Ron Howard's Rush, is getting set to star in Steven Spielberg's Robopocalypse, and still has both The Avengers 2 and the Snow White and the Huntsman sequel to look forward to. But he must be having a ball with all this work because he's just added another title to his slate.

The Wrap reports that Hemsworth is getting set to team up with yet another Academy Award-winning filmmaker: Stephen Gaghan. The site says that the Aussie star is now attached to play a part in Candy Store, and new thriller that Gaghan is writing and directing. The story follows " an elite, deep-cover operative" who finds his life fall to pieces and must start over from the beginning. Stuck working the beat as a cop, he discovers that the organization he used to work for is operating right in his neighborhood.

We first reported about the project back in August, but back then they were looking at a full team of actors - none of whom were named Chris Hemsworth. Initial reports said that Denzel Washington, Brad Pitt, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Christian Bale, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Bradley Cooper were all being looked at for parts (though it wasn't said who any of them would play). The new story mentions both Pitt and Waltz, saying they "have come up in association with the project," but it's unclear if they're still in play for parts that won't be played by the God of Thunder.
