Diablo Cody Tames The Shrew

They've got some sharp eyes over there at Collider. Better than the ones that belong to us oldsters over here, where we remove our glasses every night as soon as Matlock reruns are over. The youngsters over there caught a little-noticed item in a Variety piece about DreamWorks that says Juno writer Diablo Cody will be writing an updated take on Taming of the Shrew for the studio.

Yeah! That's news! You can read the original Variety piece here. There aren't really any other details, but Collider does remind us that this particular Shakespeare play was adapted for a modern audience 10 years ago, becoming the film that made us all fall in love with Heath Ledger, 10 Things I Hate About You. Of course, Shakespeare is infinitely adaptable, particularly if people with no lack of imagination take on the task.

I remain all about Diablo Cody, even though I won't be able to watch her new show The United States of Tara. Maybe the girl can contact one of her supporters and give us an idea of what's happening here?
