Does This Dark Knight Rises Set Photo Reveal A Batgirl Cameo?

Nothing gets your day started quicker that a blurry, potentially Photoshopped image from the set of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises that may (but most likely may not) reveal a major casting spoiler. As with just about every Rises rumor floating through cyberspace, we warn that you might not want to continue with this story if you’d like to go into Nolan’s summer blockbuster with a clean slate. Too much material from the film’s various location shoots already have made their way online, and this one – if true (big “if”) – would be a doozy of a reveal.

For real, leave now if you don’t want to be spoiled.

Still here? OK, here’s an image that was posted to DarkKnightRisesRumors of a sign allegedly posted on the door of a trailer sitting in the New York set.

The site claims one of their readers was “walking around the set” and noticed Page’s name on a trailer. They thought nothing of it (!!) until it finally clicked that “B. Gordon” might refer to Barbara Gordon, who eventually goes on to become Batgirl and, much later, Oracle.

Now, this is probably bullshit. As the site admits, Page is supposed to be filming The East with Brit Marling. And while set photos have been flying off Nolan’s porous set, Page has yet to be spotted.

However, Page is in the Nolan fold, having appeared in Inception, and we do know that the director likes to recycle actors from one project to the next. (Rises returns Inception stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard, as well.) But the image looks bogus, the rumor feels fake, and I won’t believe that Page is in Rises until we see her in Rises. What do you think? Are you buying it? And do you even want to see Barbara Gordon in what already is shaping up to be an overcrowded sequel?
