If you're not following Bruce Campbell on Twitter, that's a problem that you need to immediately rectify. In addition to being one of the coolest guys on the planet, Campbell often takes time to answer his fans' questions, many of which are about the Evil Dead remake. The project is set to be directed by newcomer Fede Alvarez and written by Diablo Cody, one of the biggest concerns about the project is who will take on the series' most legendary character: Ash. Today, Bruce Campbell revealed the answer to that question.

Earlier today, Campbell was once again responding to fan queries when someone asked who will play Ash. Campbell's answer? "No Ash character currently." Expanding on the idea in his next tweet, the actor said that the next movie is not a sequel and that the "ED remake is a re-telling. All bets are off & all involved love the new approach." Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Campbell are all attached as producers on the new project, and it was previously confirmed that the actor will play some sort of role in the new movie.

On the one hand, Bruce Campbell is the only Ashley J. Williams I ever want to see on the big screen, but now a new problem arises: if they're not using the same characters, what is going to differentiate this project from a run-of-the-mill cabin in the woods movie? Is Alvarez just going to rip off Raimi's 1st person camera racing through the woods? Are all of the other characters coming back except for Ash? At what point do you just say, "Let's turn it into an original property"?
