First Look At Mark Wahlberg And Russell Crowe In Broken City

Albert Hughes has been having a rough go of it as of late. While he was originally set up to helm the live-action remake of Akira, he ended up losing that job, and most recently his latest project, Motor City, fell apart and got pushed back. Albert's brother Allen, however, isn't having the same kind of struggle. While in past years that two have made a go at projects together, directing movies like From Hell, The Book of Eli and Menace II Society, Allen is out on his own now and recently completed his solo film Motor City, starring Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe. The movie won't be coming to theaters until 2013, but today we have our first look.
Entertainment Weekly has posted the first official stills from the movie, and while they aren't exactly thrilling, they do at least give us an impression of the characters' individual style. Check out both images below and see them full size over at the source.
Broken City, based on a screenplay by Brian Tucker, follows Billy Taggart (Wahlberg), a former cop who is hired to tail the cheating wife (Catherine Zeta-Jones) of the city's corrupt mayor. Taggart successfully finds the man that the woman is sleeping with, but it's not until after the man has been murdered. The movie's impressive supporting cast includes Barry Pepper, Kyle Chandler, Jeffrey Wright, Griffin Dunne, James Ransone, and Justin Chambers. Look for the title in theaters on January 18, 2013.
