First Trailer For Nowhere Boy: Kick-Ass Becomes John Lennon

Despite the fact that Kick-Ass underperformed at the box office, Aaron Johnson is on a path to become a star. Playing the geeky Dave Lizewski, Johnson was lauded by critics even in the shadow of spotlight-stealer Chloe Moretz. One reason the comic book film failed to reach audiences might be because the source material never reached the mainstream. Nowhere Boy won't have that problem.

The first trailer for Johnson's newest film, a biopic about John Lennon before The Beatles, has been released by Apple. Our own Katey Rich saw the film when it was shown at Sundance and called it "practically peerless, reaching far beyond the typical musical discoveries to say something new about the man." Even if you could care less about Johnson, Lennon or The Beatles, you'll at the very least get a kick out of seeing the little boy from Love, Actually playing Paul McCartney.

Check out the trailer below or in HD over at Apple.
