New Friends With Kids Clip Is Filled To The Brim With Awkwardness

There's nothing in this life quite like the persistent awkwardness that comes after you say the wrong thing to the wrong person. Be it going on a rant about religion only to find out that the person you're talking to is a born-again Christian, going on about how much you hate a book when you're speaking with the author, or threatening to kick somebody's ass only to find out that they are a professional mixed martial arts fighter, there is no moment that lasts longer than an awkward one. Also in that category is explaining how much you dislike kids and then finding out that two of your best friends are pregnant with their first child. Want to know what that last one looks like? Just check out this new clip from Jennifer Westfeldt's Friends With Kids.

The scene opens with an extended version of a scene we already saw most of in the first trailer, it's still really great and there's an excellent flow in the conversation. Watch the clip below, which comes to us courtesy of Moviefone.

The film tells the story of two longtime friends (Adam Scott and Jennifer Westfeldt) who realize that they both want to have a child but aren't in long-term relationships. Their solution is to have a child together, but also stay platonic friends. While their friends (Kristen Wiig, Jon Hamm, Maya Rudolph, Chris O'Dowd) all think it's a crazy idea, it works out well...until both friends start seeing other people (Ed Burns, Megan Fox) and things start to get complicated. Friends With Kids, written and directed by Westfeldt, premiered last year at the Toronto International Film Festival and will be arriving in theaters next week.
