Gangster Squad Gets Five New Character Posters

Gangster Squad, the new film from director Ruben Fleischer, won't be out until January, but when you look at the amount of promotion Warner Bros. has done the past three days you'd think it were coming out next month.

Earlier this week a brand new one-sheet, which was then followed by the latest theatrical trailer, and today the studio has delivered five brand spankin' new character posters. The series is actually pretty cool, as the characters kind of rotate in and out of the other pieces, though it's too bad that neither Nick Nolte or Anthony Mackie were able to score their own posters. You can see all five designs below and head over to IMP Awards to see them in their highest resolution.

Based on the book by Paul Lieberman and adapted by Will Beall, the movie is set in 1940s and 50s Los Angeles when the East Coast gangster Mickey Cohen made his way over to California to expand his criminal enterprise. In order to stop drugs, violence, and prostitution from taking over the streets, a group of LAPD officers decide that they must go above the law in order to enforce it and drive the scum out of their city. As you can see in the posters above, the film features an all-star cast that includes Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Mackie and Nick Nolte, aswell as Michael Pena, Frank Grillo, Sullivan Stapleton, Josh Pence and Jon Polito. Gangster Squad arrives in theaters January 11th and you can read more about it in our Blend Film Database.
