Green Lantern Character Posters Recite The Mantra

While the first footage wasn't exactly to die for, one of the highlights of the Green Lantern panel on Saturday was when Ryan Reynolds, who plays the titular hero in the film, recited the classic mantra: "“In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight! Let those who worship evil’s might, beware my power, Green Lantern’s light!” It's the saying that allows Green Lantern to recharge after he's expelled all of his ring's energy and that's exactly what it does to the first round of character posters.

In addition to having the first half of the mantra, it also gives us our first look at Mark Strong as Sinestro (though he's all but unrecognizable under all of the make-up). It's interesting that Reynolds isn't in the suit for the posters, but after the somewhat harsh reaction to the Entertainment Weekly cover and Martin Campbell's comments that the suit isn't done yet, it's not entirely surprising.
