I Dream Of Alba

As one of the world’s few Fantastic Four movie supporters, I guess it’s my duty to report on Fantastic Four sequel news.

The most interesting rumor swirling around the thing comes in the form of whispers that Jessica Alba may be out of any potential sequel. Instead according to Rope of Silicon, she’s trying to worm her way into a starring role as Jeannie opposite Jimmy Fallon in an upcoming adaptation of the TV show I Dream of Jeannie. If they hire Paul Walker to play Dr. Bellows they’ll have all three of the least talented actors in Hollwyood working together in the same movie. Quarantine.

The strange thing about this is that last I heard Alba was already contracted for a Fantastic Four sequel. So far she’s refusing to comment, which only makes the whole thing seem more suspicious. If it was untrue, you’d think she’d come right out with a denial. Either way, the loss of Jessica Alba is not a serious blow to a potential Fantastic Four sequel. She was passable as Sue Storm, but putting someone else in the role would only be an upgrade. Jessica is definitely the most replaceable FF teammate.

For now, this is just a rumor. If she really is doing I Dream of Jeannie they really ought to be able to work out a way to do it around her FF commitments. If she is on her way out of Fantastic Four, we’ll have to wait for an official confirmation.
