I See Revived Careers

Puberty may not be agreeing with him, but Haley Joel Osment is back in the limelight.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Osment is starring in a coming-of-age indie movie titled Home Of The Giants. It is written and directed by newcomer Rusty Gorman, while William R. Greenblatt and Dan Schalk are producing.

The story follows a teenager (Osment) living in an Indiana town that worships the sport of basketball. He is a huge fan of one of the town's basketball players, who winds up befriending the awkward teen and his buddy. Although they view him as some kind of hero, when they get to know him better, they realize he is not quite the saintly figure they had imagined. His name wouldn't happen to be Kobe Bryant, would it?

Since nobody (except three people) saw Secondhand Lions, here is your chance to repent by seeing his newest movie. I would hate to find him sitting on a corner in Manhattan dangling a cup begging for money. Please spare me from this unpleasant encounter.

Home Of The Giants will hit theaters in 2006.
