Impossible Casting

We've known for a while that Mission:Impossible 3 was going to be a rather unique project. Stretching the highly stylized franchise for a third film, producers placed the project into the hands of the man who brought us "Felicity", "Alias", and this season's chart topping, show stopping "Lost". That man (J. J. Abrams, for you folks too ashamed to admit you have no clue what "Lost" is) has recently suggested he believes his film needs more women...younger women, to be exact.

Lindsey Lohan (most recently of Herbie: Fully Loaded) and Keri Russell (most famous for her title role on "Felicity") have both been mentioned as possibilties to join M:I vets Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames for the third film. Reports waver over whether or not the two are being considered for different roles or if they're in competition, but in a recent TV Guide article Abrams remained ambiguous about their being cast.

Either way, whatever Abrams is cooking up for the third film is beginning to smell a little funny with these kinds of casting announcements. The better news comes from the folks at Film Force who are indicating Carrie-Anne Moss and Kenneth Branagh may still be on the cast roster as well. You can't go wrong with a good British villain.
