The Inbetweeners Red-Band Trailer Boasts British-Styled Raunch

In the tradition of dudes gone wild comedies like Bachelor Party, Eurotrip and The Hangover comes The Inbetweeners Movie. Based on the thrice BAFTA-nominated comedy series about four gawky teens misadventures in the English suburbs, this comedy takes the boys—who are now 18—on a trip to Greece, where they anticipate a vacation chockablock with booze, sex and epic good times. Joe Thomas, Simon Bird, Blake Harrison, and James Buckley reprise their roles in this R-rated comedy that revels in raunch, plenty of which you can now see in its red-band trailer, viewable below.

To those unfamiliar with the U.K. series The Inbetweeners, I wouldn't worry about being lost, as the story of horny boys in search of casual sex is generally pretty accessible, and often pretty hilarious. And for what it's worth, The Inbetweeners Movie was widely acclaimed by critics upon its U.K. release last summer. It also smashed box office records, becoming the comedy that earned the most in the United Kingdom on its opening weekend, beating out previous record holders Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and The Hangover: Part 2.

While we've got quite a few homegrown crass comedies this summer—from Adam Sandler's That's My Boy to Seth MacFarlane's Ted and Ben Stiller's The Watch—it's thrilling to see some foreign funny features touching down that offer their own brand of R-rated humor. Out of Denmark, we have Klown: The Movie, which is also inspired by a popular TV show, coming this July, and now The Inbetweeners Movie prepares to be summer's last raunchy laughfest, opening Stateside on September 7th.
