When you think about it, it's quite obvious why Hollywood likes making wedding movies. What other sub-genre allows for a romance, crazy families, jealousy, male debauchery, sex, pretty locations and high tension all in the same film? We've seen what seems like millions of wedding movies in the last century and we'll see millions more in the future. Now, thanks to recent casting, if you plan on going to one in the next couple years prepare to see Kyle Bornheimer's face.

According to THR, the Perfect Couples star has signed on to two different wedding-themed romantic comedies. The first, Bachelorette, which co-stars Kirsten Dunst, Isla Fisher and Lizzy Caplan, began filming this week with writer/director Leslye Headland at the helm. Produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay under their Gary Sanchez Productions banner, the film is about three woman who agree to be bridesmaids for a girl they taunted in high school. What they don't know is that the bride actually has a revenge plot in mind. Bornheimer will play another high school classmate that's also at the wedding. While he hopes to create sparks with the former prom queen (one of the three leads, I guess? The article doesn't specify) she doesn't recognize his existence.

The second wedding film is The Big Wedding with Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton, Katherine Heigl, Topher Grace, Amanda Seyfried, Robin Williams, and Susan Sarandon. Formally known as Gently Down The Stream, the film is about divorced parents (De Niro and Keaton) who pretend to be together during their adopted son's wedding. In that film, Bornheimer will play the ex-husband of Heigl's character who "shows up at the wedding, to Heigl’s displeasure." Justin Zackham, who wrote The Bucket List, is directing.

So Bornheimer is doing two wedding movies in which he plays a character who isn't wanted at the wedding? Here's hoping he has high self-esteem.
