Leslie Mann Works Resale In Goodnight Moon

If she hadn’t gone into acting, it’s easy to imagine Leslie Mann as a single mom working at the secondhand clothing store, rooting through bins of marginally used corduroys. She’ll make that work for her in the new movie Goodnight Moon, which though it sounds like a sequel to The Stand starring that “slow” guy played by Dauber, is actually a semi-autobiographical drama written and directed by Elgin James.

In it Leslie will indeed play a woman working a secondhand clothing store. Kate Bosworth is her sister, and definitely looks like it. But the movie’s really about street kids, based on Elgin’s rough upbringing in Boston street gangs. Juno Temple plays Leslie Mann’s daughter who along with AnnaSophia Rob (One of the blonde kids from Race to Witch Mountain) runs away to LA to hook up with street urchins and skaters (presumably not the family friendly, Tony Hawk kind). The guys they hang out with use them to run a scam which goes bad. It’s like a new Soul Asylum album just waiting to happen.
