Madonna And Vera Farmiga Bringing Scandal Back To The Big Screen
By Scott Gwin published

Back in October the London Daily Mail indicated that Madonna was working up a new film project about British monarch Edward VIII. A slightly more reliable source, Variety, has confirmed it and mentioned some new names to be involved.
While there's no news on casting for the role of Edward, it looks like Vera Farmiga may be taking on the role of Wallis Simpson, the woman with whom Edward VIII had the affair that led to him abdicating the British throne. For those of you not familiar with Brit politics, Edward being forced out was a huge scandal for the country and led to the current queen, Elizabeth II, becoming the new ornamental headpiece of the British government. Of course, who better to direct so scandalous than Madonna? She's teaming with Truth or Dare director Alex Keshishian to write the script.
