Magic Mike's Adam Rodriguez Joins The About Last Night Remake

The upcoming remake of About Last Night is already underway and making its way through production, but there has been a late addition to the cast as Adam Rodriguez has signed on for a role in the new dramedy. Directed by Steve Pink, who last helmed the John Cusack comedy Hot Tub Time Machine, the film is based on the 1986 Edward Zwick movie of the same name with Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, James Belushi and Elizabeth Perkins. The story is being changed and performed with a largely black cast, including Michael Ealy, Joy Bryant, Kevin Hart and Regina Hall.

Variety says that Rodriguez will be playing the role of Bryant’s former lover and college. The story, which has been adapted by Leslye Headland (Bachelorette), follows a Los Angeles couple who decide to move in together only to have the entire situation blow up in their faces and end in a split. The remake is said to be more closely based on David Mamet’s play "Sexual Perversity in Chicago," which was the basis of Zwick’s movie.

Rodriguez is coming off a great summer that saw him star in the biggest hit of his career: Steven Soderbergh’s Magic Mike. The film, in which he played Tito, scored huge with female audiences to the tune of $113 million in domestic sales on a $7 million budget. He recently completed work on Lovesick, which is a new comedy from director Luke Matheny that co-stars Ali Larter, Matt LeBlanc, Chevy Chase, Ashley Williams and Rachel Harris.
