Narnia Delayed

Disney is bumping it’s third Chronicles of Narnia movie and replacing it with a bunch of super-spy guinea pigs. HR reports that The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader will no longer start production in January of 2008 as originally planned. Instead, they’re delaying it’s start to some time in the summer.

The second Narnia movie Prince Caspian is still on track to be released next summer, but Disney says they’re stressing out the films’ young actors and blames that for the delay in starting movie number three. Of course if they delay the movie long enough their actors will no longer be “young” and the problem will pretty much be solved.

That sixth month or so delay in the start of shooting will result in a full year delay in Voyage of the Dawn Treader being released. Instead of hitting theaters in 2009, Dawn Treader is now slated for release on May 7, 2010. If like me you think Voyage of the Dawn Treader is the best of the Narnia books and were looking forward to it, get comfortable because we’ve got a long wait.

Taking over Dawn Treader’s original May 1, 2009 release date is some horrible sounding Jerry Bruckheimer produced movie called G-Force. It’s about a team of highly trained, elite guinea pig agents on a mission. I miss Aslan already.
