Nymphomaniac Clip Gives Mouthwatering Advice On Casual Sex

Shockingly this video is safe for work.

"What if it's nasty?"

"Then you just think of the bag of chocolate sweeties."

This is the key section of a bit of conversation had between young Joe (Stacy Martin) and her friend B (Sophie Kennedy Clark) as they try to make their train trip memorable in Lars von Trier's latest Nymphomaniac. Written and directed by the always controversial auteur, this drama in two parts will look to explore mankind's sexual drives in a hard-core erotic narrative that centers on a self-diagnosed nymphomaniac. Recurring von Trier leading lady Charlotte Gainsbourg stars as grown Joe, a woman who shares the story of her lifetime of sexual exploits with a Good Samaritan (Stellan Skarsgård) who saved her from dying in the street after a brutal beating.

What you see above is the first footage we've seen from the film, following the release of two images of Gainsbourg, as well as a totally outrageous cast poster (viewable below) that just gets weirder every time I look at it. (I just noticed the big metal barrel labeled "lubricant." Ick.) But the "appetizer" is from the first of eight chapters that will make up the film, and the title "The Complete Angler" that seemed such a mystery last month, now gets some much-needed context.

Nymphomaniac Poster

Young Joe and B have a little bet going to see which of them can hook up with the most men during their train trip. The bag of chocolate sweeties B refers to is the grand prize for taking on the most lovers in the train's loo. To win these coveted candies, Joe become a fisher of men, the complete angler. Aside from the promise of promiscuous sex (and lots of it), this clip also teases von Trier's irreverent sense of humor with Joe's entrance into a care of potential sexual prey fading to black with the emergence of the double entendre title card "coming soon."

That's a bit of a tease in itself as Nymphomaniac won't make its world premiere until Christmas Day in Denmark. Magnolia Pictures is lined up to release the film in the United States, but the distributor has not yet unveiled when the first volume of this racy drama will debut. What we do know is that the film boasts a cast that includes Shia LeBeouf, Christian Slater, Jamie Bell, Uma Thurman, Connie Neilsen, and Willem Dafoe. It will also feature real sex, though in a head-scratching move the filmmakers have revealed that this non-simulated sex was had by stand-ins, whose private parts will be stitched to the torsos of stars in postproduction. It's kind of like they did with Chris Evans face in Captain America, except way, way creepier.
