PU-239 Blasts Off

Sometimes the best way to get talent is to import it.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Paddy Considine and Radha Mitchell are set to star in the black comedy crime drama PU-239. They are from England and Australia, respectively. Unlike most Hollywood starlets, they are also both extremely talented actors. Considine played the uncomfortably numb father from In America and Mitchell played both Melinda and Melinda in Woody Allen's latest.

The story is about a nuclear facility technician (Considine) who gets into an accident, that hopefully didn't cost him a limb. He travels to Moscow with his wife (Mitchell) to find a new job, and instead he finds a Russian gangster in his path. Guy can't seem to get a break, eh?

The title PU-239 (not to be confused with the abortion pill RU-486) is the atomic number for plutonium. Scott Burns is writing and directing the film, with Section 8 (Clooney/Soderbergh) executive producing.

The shoot explodes into action this fall in Romania.
