Headed into theaters later this month is the Paul W.S. Anderson disaster film Pompeii, which will put Game of Thrones star Kit Harington amidst the chaos and devastation that ensues when Mount Vesuvius erupts. One of the new clips for the film demonstrates just how bad the situation gets as Harington's Milo prepares to risk his life to save a woman who did the same for him. Meanwhile, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is also clearly willing to put his neck on the line to save someone as water and fire rain down on the people of Pompeii.
The clip above reflects the fiery mayhem in store for this film, but there's more to the story than a big volcano. The film is set in 79 A.D and centers on Milo (Harington), a slave and gladiator who races against time to save his true love Cassia (Emily Browning). The two of them are seen in this clip, which has him offering her his hand while on horseback...
Kiefer Sutherland's Senator Corvus isn't such a nice guy in this movie, and as you'll see in this arena scene below, Milo isn't afraid to let his feelings about him or Rome be known while he has the attention of the crowd...
Never underestimate a chain as a good weapon when you're outnumbered, right?
Finally, we have this scene between Milo and Atticus...
If this doesn't bring the arm-grab "handshake" back into fashion, I don't know what will.
Pompeii arrives (in 3D) in theaters February 21. Check out the previously released trailer for the film below:
