Preview The New Avengers Trailer With This Short Clip

The ongoing conflict between Entertainment Tonight and the forces of all things good on this earth continues, as the insipid entertainment show got a sneak peek at the brand new trailer for The Avengers-- and of course, they talked over it for the entire time. There's only a few snippets of the trailer, mixed in with some on-set footage and some quick interviews with the stars. There's not much in there we haven't seen before, but if you want a brief glimpse of the new trailer at the end, take a look at the clip below.

I get the feeling we're going to see a lot more of Mark Ruffalo's Hulk in the new trailer, since it's the major effect we haven't seen much of yet, and there are only so many shots of the big fight in the New York City streets we can see before we start getting bored. But other than that, I'm hoping for something a little fresher, which isn't really what we're seeing in the clip of the trailer here. Isn't there another action scene they can show us, or another comic beat? I get that this is a giant movie with a lot of stars we're familiar with, but I'm ready to start getting a sense of the comedic tone Joss Whedon has brought to the film. Maybe they'll try something ballsy like what Pixar did with the new trailer for Brave, which was really just a clip from the film. It gave us a great sense of how the movie will work as a whole, and I'm sure there's some small snippet of The Avengers that works just as well.

The new Avengers trailer debuts at Apple today, and we'll have it up for you as soon as it arrives. The movie, of course, comes to theaters May 4.
