Opening credits sequences have sort of vanished from modern movies and television, in favor of getting to the point. I’m all for saving time, but a great credit sequence can be a lot of fun. So whenever a filmmaker bucks the trend and does go through the trouble to make one, I get excited.
It looks like Tim Burton has come up with something pretty cool to open Sweeney Todd. The film starts with an organ blast, and a long, semi-animated credits sequence bathed in blood. I know this, because the entire opening of Sweeney Todd has just popped up online. So if you’re sick of waiting to get your first taste, then click here to watch.
