I can why the comedy of Tim and Eric would split audiences. Some might see it as anti-art/anti-comedy and take humor in that, while others see it as pure chaos and stupidity. Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! has now been running on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim for five seasons and it's fanbase is apparently big enough that the show has been turned into a movie. Announced early in 2011, the film will be arriving in theaters early next year and today, courtesy of Funny or Die, we have the first teaser trailer.

Check it out below.

While most trailers serve to try and possibly get people interested in a movie that might otherwise ignore it, it feels as though this trailer has another goal entirely. It's basically a litmus test: if you watched this preview and laughed at it, this movie is for you. If you thought it was the stupidest thing you've ever seen, then you can feel free to just stay home. It's really as black and white as they come, and it will be interesting to see the way people who don't watch Tim and Eric react to it.

Directed by Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie is a meta exercise about two men who are given a billion dollars to make a movie and do their best to make it happen. In addition to Wareheim and Heidecker, the film will also feature John C. Reilly, Will Ferrell, Zach Galifianakis, Jeff Goldblum, Erica Durance, Will Forte, Robert Loggia Ray Wise and many, many others. The film will arrive in theaters on March 2, 2012 and will be available On Demand starting January 27, 2012.
