For the last couple years, a big part of the Jimmy Kimmel Live post-Oscar show has been what's called Movie: The Movie - a fake extended trailer for what is said to be the biggest blockbuster of all time. The late night host has managed to get some big names to join him in the madness in the past and this year is definitely no different. Two new clips from this year's show have arrived, and this appears to be just the tip of the iceberg. Check them out both above and below.
To start a list, that's Meryl Streep, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hanks, Liam Hemsworth, Queen Latifah and Captain Phillips' Barkhad Abdi all playing strange fairly odd roles. From what I can gather, the Hemworth brothers are playing two dueling rivals who are individually aided by Streep and Hanks. Then things take a left turn when the movie becomes a Barack Obama biopic that features Latifah as the woman from this viral video.
While I thought the first clip was kind of funny, as it's always cool to see big names team up for a silly project, I have to admit the second was a bit rough to sit through. Hopefully when the whole thing comes together on Oscar night the jokes will feel a bit less forced - because that was just cringe worthy.
The 9th annual Jimmy Kimmel Live: After The Oscars show, which will feature co-host Kevin Spacey, will be on after the late local news in both ET and CT time zones, and will be on at 10pm on the west coast.. While you wait, enjoy the full Movie: The Movie and Movie: The Movie 2V clips below:
