The Express is yet another in a long line of sports movies about the way throwing or dunking a ball helped end discrimination in the United States. Some people think it had more to do with people like Martin Luther King, but not Hollywood.

This year’s “winning the big game ends bigotry” movie is The Express, starring Dennis Quaid as the white coach who lets black kids play. The movie’s first trailer is below, and it’s full of the usual inspiring speeches from coaches and players where they talk about how much more important what they’re doing is than what their opponent’s doing.
