In Kick-Ass, a regular, maybe slightly loopy teenager decides to take it upon himself to become a superhero, and actually manages to get results. But what if that teenager were a grown man, and didn't live in a world in which a homegrown superhero was an accepted possibility?

That seems to be the premise of Defendor, an independent drama starring Woody Harrleson that's debuting at the Toronto Film Festival next week. Harrelson plays a man named Arthur Poppington who's obsessed with tracking down the vicious Captain Industry, and styles himself as the superhero Defendor to do it. But is Captain Industry real? And even if he manages to catch the villain, is he even capable of doing anything to him?

Twitchfilm has the trailer for this fascinating, totally bizarre-looking movie, and we've embedded it below. It's very much worth checking out, if for Kat Dennings' turn as a strung-out prostitute alone. Hopefully some reports from Toronto will soon let us know if the actual movie is as promising as the trailer.
