The Trailer of Zorro

It's a rare occasion, but it happens. As a general rule I hate sequel flims more than Kirk hates tribbles. But once in a great while a sequel film comes along that I get excited about. Today is one of those once in a great whiles.

Hot on the trails of slick new poster releases, Columbia/Sony Pictures has released a trailer for its fall release The Legend of Zorro. Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta Jones reprise their roles as the heroic Alejandro Murrieta and the stunning Elena Montero. The finale to the previous Zorro story, The Mask of Zorro, left the two happily married with a mini-Murrieta gracing the baby's crib.

Fast forward several years. The basic story seems pretty straight forward and like a lot of other hero movies. Hero gets married. Hero has family. Family becomes second to hero work. Hero has attack of conscience. Hero hangs up mask. People lose faith in hero. Hero's family is endangered. Hero puts on mask one more time. The trailer paints a much cooler picture than that though. It hints at more of the same fun stuff that made The Mask of Zorro a great show like excellent sword fights, lots of acrobatics, witty banter, cracking whips, giant explosions, disturbed baddies, 'Z's carved on the rear ends of villains and, of course, Catherine Zeta Jones sword fighting in a corset. How can you go wrong?
