Transformers 4 Adds T.J. Miller As Mark Wahlberg's Friend

Comedian T.J. Miller has managed to keep very busy as an actor over the last few years. playing solid supporting parts in film and landing a few television gigs, but today it seems that he is close to landing a part in the biggest movie of his career.

The Wrap is reporting that Miller is now in talks to join stars Mark Wahlberg and Stanley Tucci in the anticipated Transformers 4. Surprisingly, the report has a full description of the character, saying that the actor will be playing "a blue-collar mechanic who is a longtime friend of Wahlberg's character." Considering that the film doesn't have an official plot description, it's hard to say exactly how he will fit into the story or the size of the part. Young stars Nicola Peltz and Jack Reynor are both signed on to the film as well, as are Sophia Myles and Kelsey Grammar (who we know will be playing the main human villain).

Ehren Kruger, who had a hand in writing the last two Transformers movie, is handling screenwriting duties, and production is scheduled to start later this year in target of a June 27, 2014 release date.

Movie fans will probably recognize Miller from comedies like Seeking A Friend For The End of The World, Our Idiot Brother and Get Him To The Greek. He also lent his voice to the character Tuffnut in How To Train Your Dragon (a role he will reprise in the 2014 sequel). As we recently reported, he is also part of the new comedy Search Party, which is currently in production.
