One of the most terrifying characters in Guardians of the Galaxy also enjoys floating like a fairy. James Gunn, director of the film, posted a video to Facebook showing former WWE superstar, Dave Bautista float through the air doing his best Tinkerbell impression while in Drax costume. Watch below:

The video shows an outtake of Dave Bautista aka Drax the Destroyer as he flaps upwards through the air against a green screen. Gunn explains in the comment section that this was the shot when Drax is in the Kyln, lands with a robot and tears in into two. You can see Bautista laughing at the end of the outtake, so I don’t think his Tinkerbell moves made it into the actual film. But hey, you never know, Marvel is a Disney property, so could we possibly have a Tinkerbell/Drax crossover awaiting in our future?

While Drax is a vengeful warrior who is very angry and a bit scary at times, as the film progresses we see a different side of the character along with a ton of comic relief. Bautista has admitted his own similarities to Drax and the ease he had in relating to the character. But the ever-so-serious, and always literal Drax can sometimes be caught having fun, this outtake included. And that’s the great thing about outtakes, and behind-the-scenes footage, we get to see the actors in their Guardians of the Galaxy gear, but with uncharacteristic elements.

James Gunn loves to share. Every day there are new posts on his social media accounts, and they aren’t just promotions of his film, or annoying screenshots. They are always candid shots of the actors and characters in the film, fan made art, or Gunn’s own obsession with cute animals. They work as portraits of the actors, as the characters, as opposed to just a portrait of the comic book character. Here’s another great example, towards the end of the film when Drax comforts Sean Gunn (who plays Kraglin).

It’s just always funny, to see Drax show any quality other than his deep-voiced vengeful anger, especially with his strong-man stature. Can’t wait to see what other Drax character traits will be explored in the second installation, Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which hits theaters March 5, 2017.
