Wonder Woman Or Lois Lane? Henry Cavill Talks Superman's Love Life
Ask anyone even remotely familiar with superheroes, and they’ll probably tell you that Superman and Lois Lane are the most famous romantic couple in comic book history. However, the Daily Planet reporter isn’t the only woman that the Big Blue Boy Scout has been with over the decades. The Kryptonian has also had a few dalliances with Justice League teammate Wonder Woman, who is one of the few people on the planet at his power level. So which woman does Superman actor Henry Cavill think is the better fit for the Man of Steel?
During an interview with Cosmopolitan, Cavill was asked whether Lois or Diana of Themyscira is Superman’s "lobster," which is a synonym for soul mate from the TV show Friends. Rather than give a direct answer, the actor instead said the question was a good source of debate. In his words:
Cavill brings up a good point. While Superman and Wonder Woman both look human, they are still somewhat separated from the rest of the world, thus giving them more in common as outsiders. On the other hand, Lois helps Superman stay connected with his humanity. They’ve also been together for much longer, and were even married in the comics from 1996 to 2011. Still, since both characters have passionate fanbases, this is one discussion they may not have a "right answer." While Superman and Lois Lane are frequently paired together in comics and other media, the Man of Steel and the Amazonian princess have most notably been romantically involved in the ongoing comic books Justice League and Superman/Wonder Woman over the last several years.
Within the DCCU, Cavill’s Clark Kent and Amy Adams’ Lois Lane were shown developing a romantic relationship in Man of Steel, and we meet up with the couple in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, they will apparently be living together. However, that doesn’t mean that they may not deal with couple troubles during the movie. As for Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, so far we’ve only seen her interacting with Batman, but if the rumors about her fighting Doomsday are true, the the two of them will presumably meet, thus setting the stage for their interactions in Justice League: Part One.
Superman, Wonder Woman and Lois Lane will all be seen together when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016.
