Clint Eastwood might be over 80 years old, but he's not showing any signs of slowing down. The Oscar winning filmmaker has averaged one movie a year since 2002 - making two films in both 2006 and 2008 - and has always managed to earn award buzz even before anyone has seen his new movie. But for the first time in years, Eastwood is coming back from a critical disappointment. So how has decided to rebound? With a biopic about the life and times of J. Edgar Hoover.
The first trailer for J. Edgar has arrived online. Check it out below or in HD over on Apple.
Written by Dustin Lance Black - who won the Best Original Screenplay Oscar for 2008's Milk - and starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Armie Hammer, Judi Dench, Naomi Watts, Josh Lucas, Ed Westwick and many more, J. Edgar tells the story of the man who created the Federal Bureau of Investigation and, for nearly 50 years, worked to protect our country. Not always operating within the law to enforce the law and possessing a secret life that few knew about, Hoover was a mysterious and complicated figure that Eastwood's film hopes to examine. The film will be making its debut this fall at AFI Fest and is scheduled to be released on November 9th.
