Drake Was Burglarized By A Really Thirsty Woman

News broke this week that Drake became the target of an alleged burglary in early April. Unlike the losses in the harrowing Hollywood burglaries and robberies of late, the reported cost of the crime at the Canadian singer's Los Angeles home was a mere ten bucks. Apparently, the burglar was thirsty, but not necessarily for fame or fortune; she legitimately wanted something to drink, specifically soft drinks and water. Here is what we know about this unusual story.

Around 10:30 p.m. on April 3, a person on Drake's team entered the R&B singer's estate in the gated community of Hidden Hills to find a perpetrator in a bedroom of the house, so said TMZ. The 24-year-old woman had tossed on one of Drake's hoodies, and she was wearing it when the colleague of Drake found her. Drake was not home during the time of the incident, so the colleague called the police, who soon arrived and questioned the woman. At first, the woman told the cops that she had the authorization to be in the More Life artist's private home, but then she admitted that she had lied and did not have permission to be there. In fact, she revealed another strange detail, too; she had swiped some things from the house--Pepsi, Sprite, and Fiji water.

There is not a clear explanation as to how the woman managed to sneak inside Drake's house. In fact, the full timeline of the crime is uncertain, as well. Nevertheless, because the woman confessed to stealing the drinks, we can ascertain that the alleged culprit was thirsty, perhaps from her adventures in trespassing. Moreover, based on the woman's confession to stealing, the police apprehended her on a felony burglary charge. It sounds harsh, but it is the protocol for illegally entering a private home and taking something.

So, in a way, Drake now joins the ranks of Emmy Rossum, Kendall Jenner, Alanis Morissette, Nicki Minaj and Cesar Milan, who all became the targets of highly publicized burglaries in recent times. However, the circumstances encompassing this case seem to align less with those terrifying incidents and more with the strange encounter Chris Brown had when he returned to his home to find a stalker naked in his bed back in 2015.

It seems like heightening home protection should be a top priority for everyone in Hollywood these days. We are seeing more and more news about stars becoming the targets of scary planned heists. If a 24-year-old woman can get in your home and mosey around wearing your hoodie and drinking your pop, you probably need to adjust your security. When you are as rich and famous as Drake, there is no reason not to know exactly how and when a perpetrator steps foot on your property. Here's hoping these stories about preventable trespassings and burglaries, however strange they might be, come to an end soon.
