Brad Pitt Looks Back On Much Of The 90s As A Wasted Opportunity

Brad Pitt may have spent a solid portion of the 1990s starring in hit movies and being married to one of the most beautiful women in the world, but that doesn’t mean he looks back on that time in his life with a particular fondness. In fact, he considers a solid chunk of that decade wasted to drug use.

Here’s a portion of what he had to say about that time in his life during a recent interview with Esquire

“For a long time I thought I did too much damage—drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter…I spent years fucking off. But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity.”

Compared to what type of man he was during the late 1990s, Pitt barely resembles his former self. He now looks after six children, is happily married to Angelina Jolie and worries about things like people getting mad at him when he can’t remember their faces. For whatever reason, he loses a mental picture of people’s faces he doesn’t know very well as soon as they walk away, and when he meets them again, it’s like he’s being introduced to an entirely different person, at least if they don’t help him out and let him know exactly where they met.

At his core, Pitt has always come across like a really genuine dude. I’m sure he would do some things differently if he could do it all over again, but I’m not sure there’s a single one of us that doesn’t have at least one foot in that boat.

Moving forward, you’ll be able to watch Pitt in the upcoming World War II tank movie Fury, in the outbreak thriller World War Z and hopefully, in footage of him walking down the aisle and finally exchanging “I Dos” with Angie. Here's to hoping he can look back on the rest of his life with nothing but smiles.
