Here Comes Honey Boo Boo's Mama June And Sugar Bear Are Getting Married

Today is a big day for the Thompson clan. If you think you don’t know what family that is, you probably do. The Thompson’s proudly claim TLC reality star Honey Boo Boo, as well as her Mama June and her father, Sugar Bear Thompson. The two met in an online chat room nine years ago and today, they are finally planning to tie the knot.

Mama June and Sugar Bear are getting hitched in the great state of Georgia today (Sunday). The news was first reported by TMZ who says the ceremony will take place in McIntyre, Georgia. Guests who were important enough to actually score an invite to the event have been instructed to go full redneck for the ceremony. I’m not exactly certain what that means, but beards and Carhartt jackets are likely key to the uniform.

The outlet managed to take a look at the wedding invitations, which note the wedding will be a taped event and no outside cameras will be allowed. This means that TLC likely has dibs on the big event and that it will air as a wedding special on the network sometime in the future. Honestly, Mama June and Sugar Bear Thompson have been together for an extraordinarily long time. Perhaps the noticeably wedding shy Mama June finally decided marriage was the right decision, or perhaps TLC did a little scheming to push the couple in the marriage direction. I don’t want to be skeptical, but a wedding is great fodder for television, and probably worth a pretty penny for the network. Either way, congrats to Sugar Bear and Mama June on nearly a decade together. Here’s to hoping they’ll be there for each other, through thick and thin, in the decades to come.
